Joan Ruff Craft

Ms. Joan (pronounced Joanne) Ruff Craft, 82, of Lexington, SC, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at her residence.

Ms. Craft was born in Elberton on October 12, 1936, daughter of the late Floyd R. and Frances Snellings Ruff. She was a payroll clerk and worked in office administration most of her life, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. “Mama Jo”, as she was known to her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working in her yard.

She is survived by her sons: Gerry (pronounced Gary) Craft and Gladden Chappell of Lexington, SC and Danny and Ann Craft of Elberton; grandchildren: Kevin Craft and Brooke Neal, Chris and Lindsey Craft, Cale and Morgan Craft, and Kallie Craft; brother, Larry and Sara Ruff of Orlando, FL; and close friend, Shirley Hendricks of Elberton.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, December 15, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 1:00-1:45p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
