Joyce Beth Bonds Almond

Joyce Beth Bonds Almond, widow of George Chester Almond, of Elberton, GA, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at her residence. Born in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Allen Bonds and Annie Mae Hutchison Bonds and was reared in the home of her great-aunt, Kate Hutchison Pettigrew of Barnes Station. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Elberton. Surviving are two daughters, Kay Almond Wilson (Thomas Evans Wilson, III), of Beaufort, SC and Rita Almond Mulherin (Louis Mulherin, III), of Augusta, GA; one brother, Neil C. Bonds, of Marietta, GA; one sister, Alicia Bonds Moye (Ollie Moye), of Prosperity, SC; three granddaughters, Brooks Wilson Salley (Rion Salley) and Leigh Wilson Ward (Jason Ward), both of Beaufort, SC and Courtney Mulherin, of Charlotte, NC; two great-granddaughters, Kathryn Bryant Salley and Hannah Leighton Ward; and three great-grandsons, Jackson Lesesne Ward, Wilson Decatur Salley, and Jacob Franklin Ward, all of Beaufort, SC. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, George Chester Almond, her parents, her great-aunt, Kate Hutchison Pettigrew and her sister, Carolyn Pettigrew Threlkeld. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lowndesville, SC with Reverend Lee Kennerly officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Room of the church immediately following the service. Please omit flowers.
