Mr. Kelsey Smith Haralson, 87, of 1478 Washington Highway, Elberton, husband of 66 years to Colleen Hammond Haralson, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Haralson was born on October 26, 1926, in Elbert County to the late Howard Haralson and Clyde Smith Haralson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in WWII. Commonly known as "Mr. Golf Cart", Kelsey was a retired heavy equipment operator and sold golf carts for many years. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 66 years, Colleen Hammond Haralson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Debbie Haralson of Elberton; and two grandsons: Jake Haralson and Caleb Haralson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Nina Albertson and Thomas Leo Haralson. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, September 14, at 2PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Jake Haralson, Caleb Haralson, Ronnie Brown, Jason Dixon, Jerry Albertson, and Paul Stone honored as pallbearers. The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 1-2PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
