Killian Dane Merritt Ward

Killian Dane Merritt Ward, 22, of 496 Childers Road, Colbert, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ward was born in Athens, February 8, 1990, to Michael Joseph Ward and Karla Denise Merritt Ward. He attended Colbert Elementary, MCMS and MCHS, he was a carpenter employed by Guaranteed Installation, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Killian was also a founding member of the band Southern Soul where he played lead guitar with great talent. He often spent time playing songs for his late grandmother, Edna Merritt of Smyrna, GA. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Mike and Karla Ward of the residence; brother, Michael Joseph Merritt Ward and his wife Shelby of Hull; grandparents, Theresa and Donald Lehne of St. Augustine, Florida; uncles and aunts, John and Patsy Simmons, Che and Vicki Barbour, Lance Lehne, Barbara and Robbie Henderson, Donna Jobe, Jan Schwiss, and Kristina Lehne. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Jesse L. and Edna Grimes Merritt and Jackie Lee Ward. A memorial service celebrating Killian’s life will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Social Club (the “River”) 1181 Harry Pauls Road, Danielsville, GA 30633.
