Laura Rebecca Brown Johnson

Mrs. Laura ‘Rebecca’ Brown Johnson, 82, of Elberton, wife of the late Thomas Eugene “Tommy” Johnson, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Comer Health & Rehab.

Mrs. Johnson was born on June 3, 1940, daughter of the late John Emory Brown and Cariene Elizabeth Scoggins Brown. She was a seamstress having retired from Elberton Manufacturing Company and a member of Elberton Church of God. Rebecca will be remembered for her caring nature and the way she took care of everyone.

Survivors include her sons: Charles Johnson and Robin Johnson, both of Elberton; siblings and their spouses: Milford and Janeth Brown of Dewy Rose, Deborah and Tony Bell of Comer, and Linda and Ray Pless of Dewy Rose; grandchildren: Jeremy Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Isiah Johnson, and Tina Marie Teasley; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Geraldine Smith and Douglas Brown.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Rebecca’s life will be held on Friday, December 30, at 4:30p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams and Mrs. Juanita Scruton officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
