Mrs. Lila Cornelia Driver David, age 100, of Bowman, wife of the late Grover Cleveland “G.C” David, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at PruittHealth at Spring Valley.
Mrs. David was born in Dewy Rose on January 11, 1920, daughter of the late Riley James Driver and Mary Elizabeth Tyner Driver. She was a graduate of Bowman High School and was retired from the Powder Department at Johnson and Johnson. She was a member of Bowman Baptist Church where she kept the nursery for 40+ years.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law: Dianne and Joe Leard of Bowman and Brenda and Starke Jaudon of Elberton; grandchildren: Denise and Lynn Bumgarner of Watkinsville, Doug Booth of Dewy Rose, Arnold and Tara Jaudon of Lexington, and Sara and Jeff Shuman of Madison; great-grandchildren: Anna Jaudon, Addie Shuman, Hudson Shuman, and Zack Evans and family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Darrell Booth; and siblings: Newt Driver, Loyd Driver, Frank Driver, Mack Driver, Mae Driver, Zelma Gilley, Drucie Carrington, and an infant sibling.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, October 1, at 11 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Dr. Tony Smith and Rev. Mike Petty officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Wednesday, September 30.
