Lois Petrea Webb

Mrs. Lois Rebecca Petrea Webb, 89, resident of Magnolia Estates, formerly of Lake Forest, Elberton, wife of 63 years to the late Hansel Ayers “Billy” Webb, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Nancy Hart Nursing Center, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Webb was born in Rowan County, Kannapolis, North Carolina on November 12, 1929, daughter of the late George Washington Petrea, Sr. and Bernice Ward Petrea. Lois was a 1950 graduate of Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years having retired from Spring Valley Health Care Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and the church’s Lydia Sunday School Class. Lois was Past Matron of Order of Eastern Star Rose M. Ashby Chapter 550.

Left to cherish her memories are her children and their spouses: Mike and Glenda Webb of Elberton and Rebecca and Dennis Lam of Martinez; grandchildren: Bridget Graham, Brian Lam, Derrick Webb, and Stephen Lam; great-grandchildren: Aiden Self, Boston Graham, Baylee Graham, and Dillan Webb; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Margaret Petrea, Faye Monteith, Jeanette Petrea, George W. Petrea, Jr. and E. Ray Petrea.

Funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, June 3, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. Eastern Star rites will be rendered.

The family is at the residence of Mike and Glenda Webb, 3022 Calhoun Falls Highway, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1:00-2:30p.m. on Monday prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lydia Sunday School Class and Rose M. Ashby Order of the Eastern Star.
