Luther Michael "Mike" Lunsford

Mr. Luther Michael “Mike” Lunsford, 73, of Brookehaven Circle, Elberton, husband of 41 years to Margaret Edna Turner Lunsford, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Lunsford was born in Elberton on March 25, 1949, son of the late Elmer Eugene Lunsford and Eunice Corine Parham Lunsford. He was a lifelong resident of Elberton and a 1967 graduate of Elbert County High School. Mike served his country faithfully in the Georgia Army National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25. He began working at Jones Appliances and spent his working career devoted to the citizens of Elbert County at Lunsford Appliance Services, always being just a phone call away. An avid sportsman, Mike enjoyed NASCAR and watching all major sport games. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and looked forward to starting each morning with the McIntosh Coffee Club.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Margaret, include his children: Calvin Michael “Boo” Lunsford of Elberton, Beverly Oldham of Arnoldsville, Dala DuBose of Virginia, Gordon Bray of Elberton, and Don Bray of Elberton; sister, Martha Joyce Cole of Elberton; grandchildren: Ellie Lunsford, Ava Lunsford, Audrey Lunsford, Stephanie Young, Nikki McCannon, Michael McCannon, Mitchell Burrow, Charles DuBose, Eric DuBose, Conley Norton, Turner Montgomery, and Skyler Bray; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Betty Bradford, Donna Radant, and Wayne Lunsford.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Friday, August 19, at 11 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating.
