Mr. Marshall Edwin Leard, 65, of Harris Road, Royston, husband of 3 years to Diane Boleman Leard, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019, at his residence.

Marshall was born in Elberton on June 4, 1954, son of Annie Bell Scarborough Leard and the late John Edward Leard. He was a graduate of Elbert County High School and a Mason. Marshall was a devoted Christian and had worked as a stone cutter in the granite industry. He enjoyed listening to and playing bluegrass music.

Survivors include his wife, Diane of the residence; mother, Annie Bell of Hartwell; brother, Danny and Pam Leard of Elberton; nephew, Blake and Amber Leard of Elberton; step-son, Stacy and Melanie Carey of Jefferson; and four step-grandchildren.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Tuesday, December 3.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, December 4, at 2 o’clock in the Bowman Church of God with the Revs. Ben Coggins and Donald Vaughn officiating. Mr. Leard will be placed in the church at 1 o’clock to lie instate.

Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens - SOUTH in Royston with Blake Leard, Carl Wilhite, Doug Grimes, Bobby Lee Coggins, Don Powell, and Elton Payne honored as pallbearers.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
