Marshall Joseph Smith, V

Mr. Marshall Joseph Smith, V, 96, of Fairview Farms Circle, Lavonia, husband of 20 years to Jeanette Darlene “Jani” Smith, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Smith was born in Washington, DC on May 14, 1924, son of the late Marshall Joseph Smith, IV and Edna Quade Smith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the WWII and a retired self-employed general contractor. Marshall was a devoted member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Jani, include his children: Alan (Nadene) of Colorado and Stephanie (Dock) of California; step-son, Rick (Brandy) Callahan of North Carolina; grandchildren: Noel, Marshall, K.C., Cierre, Chole, and Noah; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, June 27, at 10 o'clock.
