Mary Helen Bond Borders, 82, of 1970 Stinchcomb Road, Dewy Rose, wife of the late Thomas Malcom "Cooter" Borders, Jr., passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in the Spring Valley Health Care Center. Mrs. Borders was born in Elbert County, January 12, 1930, to the late Holcomb Vernon and Julia Mae McMullan Bond. She was a graduate of the Rock Branch High School, a member of the Stinchcomb United Methodist Church, and a homemaker. Left to cherish her memories are daughters and sons-in-law, Tommie and Darrell Henderson of Lincolnton and Deborah and Rev. Douglas Huff of Elberton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Paula Henderson, Lee and Jennifer Henderson, Andy and Ashley Henderson, Matt Henderson, Kent and Katie Huff, and Kate Huff; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Lenora Anderson, Norman "Pete" Bond, and Clyde Bond, all of Elberton; sister-in-law, Sallie Borders Seymour of Dewy Rose; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Herman Bond. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11AM Saturday, October 6, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sexton officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with grandsons and Allen Bond honored as pallbearers. The Borders family is at the home of Rev. Douglas and Deborah Huff, 2475 Indian Hill Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8PM Friday evening. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Stinchcomb United Methodist Church, 2069 Stinchomb Road, Dewy Rose, Georgia 30634.
