Mrs. Mary John Griffith Rowland Tiller, 76, of Elberton, wife of Charles Edwin Tiller, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Brown Health and Rehab. Mrs. Tiller was born in Franklin County on September 19, 1938, to the late Sewell Lee Griffith and Margie Elizabeth Smith Griffith Bearden. She was a seamstress, of the Baptist faith, and a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. "Granny", as she was known to her family, was happiest when spending time with the loves of her life - her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed playing softball and golf, camping, watching her great-grands play, and spending time at casinos in Cherokee, NC and Biloxi, MI. In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by her children: Barbara and David Hunt of Elberton and Leroy and Pam Rowland of Dewy Rose; grandchildren: Bradley J. Bowen of Tucker, Russell Keith Hunt of Byron, Brandon L. and Cara Bowen of Elberton, Laurie and Chris Whitfield of Elberton, and Krystal and Blake Noggle of Elberton; great-grandchildren: MaKayla Whitfield, Avery Whitfield, Brice Noggle, Cadence Noggle, Millie Noggle, and Lila Bowen; siblings: Annie Lou Epps of Dewy Rose, Sarah Dale of Royston, Reba S. Weed of Bowman, Betty Dodd of Danielsville, John R. Griffith of Bowman, Brenda Truitt of Elberton, and Annie Mae Lester of Athens; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Katie Bell and brother, William Griffith. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, July 3, at 4:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:00-3:30p.m. prior to the service.
