Mrs. Mary Johnson Wood, age 85, of West Franklin Place in Hartwell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 11, 1935 in Vanna, GA, to the late Hubert L. Johnson and Ida E. Bryant Shaw. She was a member of Comer Baptist Church and she loved to deer hunt, fish and camping. She spent her working career as a Cosmetologist.

She is survived by; sons, Gary Weaver and Wesley Weaver, both of Canon, GA; siblings: Betty Jo Miller, Herman Johnson, Joe Johnson, Harriett Zorc, and Deanie Miligan; grandchildren: Joshua Cade Weaver, Adam Dale Weaver, Matthew Daniel Weaver, and Justin White survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe B. Wood; son, Thomas Dale Weaver; and brother, Charles Johnson.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Wood will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at four o'clock from the Sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 3-4 at the church on Saturday.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, from 6-8 p.m. The family will be at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011
