Mayson Hubbard

Mr. B. Mayson Hubbard, 74, of Jaudon Road, Elberton, husband of the late Martha Warren Hubbard, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Mr. Hubbard was born in the Goosepond Community of Oglethorpe County on January 26, 1940, to the late Ruffin and Nelle Thornton Hubbard. He was the owner/operator of Hubbard Sandblasting where he retired and a member of River of Life Church. Mayson was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Left to cherish his memories are his children and their spouses: Mike and Jackie Hubbard of Raleigh, NC, Pat and Russell Horton of Easley, SC, and Wendy and Mike Miller of Elberton; sisters: Ann Renick of Wichita Falls, TX and Bobbie Kelly of Elberton; fourteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Suttles. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, December 29, at 2:00p.m. in the River of Life Church in Hartwell with the Rev. Ken Buffington officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Dale Campbell, Brad Campbell, Kevin Smith, Jacob DiPaolo, Jon McCurley, Kyle McCurley, Bryan Horton, and Clay Miller honored as pallbearers. Draven Boleman will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family is at the residence on Jaudon Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 3:00-5:00p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Flowers are optional; memorials may be made in his memory to the River of Life Church Building Fund, 3966 Elberton Highway, Hartwell, GA 30643.
