Millie Fremd Poole

Mrs. Mildred Edith “Millie” Fremd Poole, 74, of Elberton, wife of the late Jimmie Lee Poole, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Millie was born in Palatine, Illinois on December 14, 1943, daughter of the late William Louis Fremd and Edith Baumann Fremd. She and Jim moved to Elberton in 1978 when they purchased the historic Martin Funeral Home on Heard Street and served the citizens of Elberton and the surrounding area faithfully for many years. Millie was a devoted LPN having retired from Spring Valley Health Care Center and Heardmont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Poole was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, and loved flowers, hummingbirds, and her family.

Survivors include her children: Sarah and Travis Lunsford and Berkeley Poole, all of Elberton; and grandchildren: Kristen Lunsford, Tyler Lunsford, Nate Lunsford, and Spencer Poole; and one great-grandchild, Graelynn Hall.

The family will receive friends at Northside Baptist Church on Friday evening, May 11, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00p.m.

Flowers are welcome; however, those wishing may make contributions to Berry Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
