Norma Gaines Haston, 84, of 402 Wilcox Heights, Elberton, wife of Odell Haston, passed away Sunday morning, September 25, 2011, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Haston was born in Elbert County, November 21, 1926, daughter of the late Dewey A. Gaines and Susie Adams Gaines Douglas. She was retired from Elberton Manufacturing Company and was a member of Elberton First United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of the home, Odell Haston; children and their spouses, Donnie and Harriet Haston, Barry Haston, Dennis and Pat Haston, and Teresa and James Hall, all of Elberton; sisters, Betty Smith of Elberton, Mary Lee Bosco of Wellford, SC, and Wilene Tucker of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren and their spouses, Cindy and Paul Paramore, Christy and Josh Jones, Brittney Andrews, Kayleigh and Adam Neal, and Christopher Haston; and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Joe Carl Gaines, Sara Waide, and Bobbie Hall. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2PM Wednesday, September 28, at Elberton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family is at the home of her son, Donnie Haston, 1493 Bakers Ferry Road, Elberton and will receive friends Tuesday night from 6-8PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will include the Elbert County Sheriffs Office. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Elberton First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
