Ola Franklin Chastain

Mrs. Alvah Ola Franklin Chastain, 99, formerly of Chastain Rd., Elberton wife of the late Fletcher W. Chastain passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Chastain was born October 10, 1917 in Elberton, GA to Paul Thomas Franklin and Alice Elizabeth Nelms Franklin. She was a member of Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a homemaker.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Ward and Mary Chastain of Elberton, GA; daughter: Mary Alice Rousey of Fortsonia; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter: Carolyn Brown; siblings: John Floyd Franklin, Pearl Elizabeth Bryant, Ina Lorene Nash Payne, James Paul Franklin, Barbara Holbert, Thomas Watson Franklin, Edna Lee Bond Took, Katie Mae Hanvey, Joseph Dewey Franklin, Mina Ruth Bond Evans , Charles Harley Franklin and a great-great-grandchild Reid Rousey.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 11AM, Monday, April 3 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Hart and Rev. James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Joshua Rousey, Jason Howard, Jeremy Howard, Zach Ross, Andrew Melton and Ben Smith serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.

Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in her honor to Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church.
