Olin Eugene Threlkeld, 82, of 1911 Hartwell Highway, Elberton husband of Rebecca Maxwell Threlkeld passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart, Georgia. Born February 16, 1931 in Crawford, Georgia to the late Monty Ossie Threlkeld and Marie Winslett Threlkeld. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was the first convert, a retired sandblaster and a U.S. Army Veteran. Left to cherish his memories are his childhood sweetheart whom would been married for 60 years August 25; Rebecca Maxwell Threlkeld, daughters and son-in-laws Janet and Billy Adams of Bowman, Georgia; Jennifer and Mark Kimble of Colbert, Georgia and Judy Threlkeld and her fiance Brent Craft of Anderson, South Carolina; sons and daughters-in-law Monty and Donna Threlkeld of Melbourne, Florida; Chris and Joni Threlkeld of Elberton, Georgia and Michael "Turk" Threlkeld of Elberton, Georgia; sister Louise Barber; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Cecil Threlkeld and sister Clara Kirk. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 11AM, Wednesday July 17 at Calvary Baptist Church of Elberton with Reverend Paul Rowe, Reverend Bill Vaughn and Lucy Wallace officiating. Mr. Threlkeld will be placed in the church to lie in state from 10:30 till the hour of the service. Private interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Byron Adams, Crayton Threlkeld, Colin Threlkeld, Billy Adams, Mark Kimble, Brent Craft, Bobby Davis and Alex Evans serving as pallbearers. The Threlkeld family will receive friends from 7-9PM Tuesday night at Berry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested please make Memorials in his honor to the Olin Threlkeld Memorial and Scholarship Fund C/O Pinnacle Bank P.O. Box 430 Elberton, Georgia 30635.
