Pamela Elizabeth Hulme Bass

God called his faithful servant, Pamela Elizabeth Hulme Bass, 55, of 1201 Turner Road, Montevideo Community, Hartwell, home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Following a courageous battle with cancer, Pam is now at peace, free of pain, and has been reunited with her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, the Rev. Raymond Lamar Bass, Jr., her husband of twenty-eight years until his death in 2012.

Pam was born on February 13, 1961, to Edwin Daniel Hulme and Jackie Bruce Hulme. She was a graduate of Hart County High School. She furthered her education at Central Wesleyan College in Central, SC, graduating with a BA degree and double major in psychology and history and continued her education at The University of Georgia in Athens, GA, graduating with a degree in Master of Social Work. Pam worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of GA and a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the State of SC. She was formerly employed by Advantage Behavioral Health Systems in Elberton, GA and AnMed Behavioral Health 8-South Unit in Anderson, SC. She was last employed with Avita Community Partners in Hartwell, GA where she served on various community projects and agency meetings to improve the welfare of others.

Pam shared her faith as a Christian since the age of 15, having served as Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School worker and leader, and assisted with youth camps in the Wesleyan Church. She and Lamar, a licensed and ordained minister in both the Wesleyan and Southern Baptist Churches, served the children and youth ministries of Fellowship Wesleyan Church in Iva, SC; Welcome Wesleyan Church in Elberton, GA; Rock Branch Baptist Church in Elberton, GA; and Sardis Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA.

Surviving are her sons: Kyle Lamar Bass and Mark Daniel Bass, both of the home; parents: Edwin Hulme of Elberton and Jackie Hulme of Hartwell; brother, Ricky and wife Gail Hulme of Hartwell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Willie Mae Bass of Elberton; sisters-in-law: Lavenia and husband Andrew Baxter of Cheraw, SC and Georgia and husband Eddy Corn of Hiwassee, GA; nephews and nieces: Heather H. and Ronald Mooney, Jeremy and Tiffany Hulme, Charles Edward and Summer Corn, Lydia Diane Corn; great-nephews, Justin and Jackson Mooney; and great-niece, Eden Corn.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, September 3, in the New Bethel United Methodist Church. Pam will be laid to rest beside her husband in the New Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, which is located near the Rock Branch Ball Field where she and Lamar first met as teenagers.

The family is at the residence of Raymond and Willie Mae Bass, 2932 Green Acres Road, Elberton. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6-8PM Friday evening.

Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in her honor to T.J. & Friends Foundation, New Bethel United Methodist Church, or to the charity of your choice.
