Mrs. Lillian Patricia "Pat" Bridges Carter, formerly of Tate Street, Elberton, wife of the late Wayne Carter, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015, in Harrison, Georgia. Mrs. Carter was born November 11, 1941 in Montrose, GA to the late Herbert L. Bridges, Sr. and Clemmie Lillian Lord Bridges. Left to cherish her memories are her son James Burt Thompson, Jr. of Sandersville, GA; daughter Lillian D. Thompson of Harrison, GA; step-son Scott Carter of Athens, GA; siblings, Mable Thompson of Blakely; Ruth Raffield of Blakely; Margurette Aycock of Warner Robbins, GA; Doris Dixon of Sandersville, GA; Gene Bridges of Washington County; Mary Rowe of Milledgeville, GA; Herbert L. Bridges, Jr. of Vidalia, GA; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by daughter Verna Sue Thompson, step-daughter Martha Lynn Carter and sister Lillie Mae Frances. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the home of her grandson, 1632 Harrison Pringle Road Harrison, GA with Pastor Gary Mims officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made in her honor to Hospice of Laurens County 205 North Franklin Street, Dublin, GA 31021.
