Peggy Oneal Souther Scott, 71, of Elberton, wife of Henry Lee Scott, Sr., passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Scott was born in Anderson, SC, April 24, 1941, to the late William Garland Souther and Ruby Mary Jane Kidd Souther Bobo. She was a homemaker and a member of Forest Hills Assembly of God. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Henry Lee Scott, Sr.; children and their spouses, Rosa and Jim Allyn of Elberton, Donna and Carl Duncan of Monroe, and Henry Lee, Jr. and Jaime Hartley Scott of Elberton; siblings, Maggie Powell of Anderson, SC and Gerald Souther of Greenville, SC; three half-sisters; one half-brother; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 3PM Tuesday, January 8, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Ann Reynolds and Leon Suttles officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Milton Scott, Lamar Scott, Stephen Duncan, John Duncan, Edward Stratton, and Jim Allyn honored as pallbearers. The family is at the residence of Jim & Rosa Allyn, 1211 Village Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6-8PM Monday evening.
