Perry Otha Whitmire

Mr. Perry Otha Whitmire, 62, of Eagle Grove School Rd., Bowman, GA passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Whitmire was born August 30, 1955 in Royston, GA to Rufus Whitmire and Dora Mize Whitmire. Perry was a member of Dewy Rose Baptist Church where he was very active with local and international missions, a member of the Men of Iron and served as a deacon. He was also a founding member of Unity Baptist Church where he also was active in missions.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Debbie Rowland Whitmire; daughters and sons-in-law: Crystal Whitmire of Elberton, GA; Brandy and Daryl West of Elberton, GA; Mallory and Dustin Uselton of Martin, GA; siblings: Allene Cleveland, Rosetta Hall, Frank Whitmire, Alvin Whitmire; and a grandchild: Veronica West.

Funeral services to celebrate Perry's life will be held 3PM, Friday, October 20 at Dewy Rose Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Dewy Rose Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Thursday night at Berry Funeral Home.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers to make memorials in his memory to Missions Fund at Dewy Rose Baptist Church, PO Box 149, Dewy Rose, GA 30634 or Unity Baptist Church, 3908 Highway 17 South, Royston, GA 30662.
