Mrs. Vivian Rebecca Davis Eavenson, 88, of Grady Cleveland Road, Elberton, wife of the late Oscar Harper Eavenson, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Eavenson was born in Elbert County on October 13, 1925, to the late Obe Walker Davis, Sr. and Marie Wells Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Doves Creek Baptist Church where she was involved with the JOY Group. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Jerry Eavenson of Elberton, Dennis and his wife Sharon Bailey-Eavenson of Lithonia, and Donna E. and her husband Rev. David Nix of Dawsonville; grandchildren: Erica Justice, Micah Eavenson, Joshua Nix, and Rebekah Nix; six great-grandchildren; siblings: Frances Davis, Dr. Joyce Davis, Jane Farmer, all of Elberton, and Jack and his wife Peggy Davis of Comer; sisters-in-law: Judy Davis of Elberton and Billie Gulley of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law, Norman Eavenson of Elberton; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers: O.W. "Dub" Davis, Jr. and Bill Davis. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. David Nix and Douglas Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Doves Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family is at the residence on Grady Cleveland Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 7:00-9:00p.m. on Monday evening. Mrs. Eavenson loved all flowers and they are welcomed by the family. The family would like to thank Willie Faust for her loving care and devotion to Mrs. Eavenson.
