Reese "Pete" Grover Porterfield

Mr. Reese Grover "Pete" Porterfield, 86, of Moores Lane, Comer, GA passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mr. Porterfield was born August 24, 1934, in Danielsville, GA to Richard D. Porterfield and Audie Eberhardt Porterfield. He was a member of Comer United Methodist Church, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and was a retired mail carrier from the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Booth Porterfield; son, Mark A. Porterfield of Comer, GA; daughters and son-in-law: Pam Livesay of Colbert, GA and Reesa and Jeff Roberts of Roxboro, NC; siblings: Mike Porterfield of Danielsville, GA and Mary Lee Esco of Comer, GA; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Jimmy, David, William Noel and Hugh Thomas Porterfield.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held 3PM, Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Comer United Methodist Church with Rev. Hugh Hendrickson and Rev. Randy Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2PM to 3PM just prior to the service at Comer United Methodist Church.
