Richard Kelly Gillam, 49, of 100 Sherard Street, Calhoun Falls, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at his home.

He was born on March 16, 1970, in Anderson County to Deborah Trotter Smith and the late Jackie Timms, and he was reared by the late Columbus Gillam. He attended Elbert County High School, in Elberton Ga. Kelly, as he was affectionately known by all, joined the Marines in 1988 and served his country actively until he was honorably discharged in 1995. He worked in the Granite business for several years and later relocated to South Carolina and worked in textile until his health declined.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara Cade Gillam of the home; his mother, Deborah Trotter Smith of Calhoun Falls; his children: Yashikia Cade of Calhoun Falls, Rishon K. Gillam of the home, and Ti’Ionna Gillam of Holly Hill, SC; four grandchildren: Anastasia Gillam, Riley Gillam, Amiyah Gillam, and Layla Turner; two sisters: Carol Matt Smith of Denmark, New Mexico and Christy Timms of Myrtle Beach, SC; one uncle, Donnie (Crystal) Trotter of Elberton, Ga; one aunt, Sonya Rhodes of Greenwood, SC; mother -in-law, Robbie M. Cade of Calhoun Falls; two brothers-in-law: James (Geraldine) Cade and Jackie (Floride) Cade, both of Calhoun Falls; adopted goddaughter, Lemekia Cade of Calhoun Fall; adopted grandson, Ti’Andre Simmons of Denmark, SC; two close friends: Terry Postell and Dale (Lisa) Henderson, both of Calhoun Falls; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to mourn his passing.

Services are 1pm Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Glover AME Church in Calhoun Falls. Burial will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Elberton Ga. Public viewing will be Monday August 26, 2019 from 1-7pm at the Abbeville-White Mortuary. The family is at the home.
