Mr. Robert ‘Wayne’ Youngblood, 69, of Bobby Brown State Park Road, Elberton, husband of 50 years to Elizabeth ‘Laverne’ Wilson Youngblood, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Youngblood was born in Arnoldsville on August 16, 1952, son of Lilly Bingham Youngblood and the late Robert Hoyl Youngblood. He was a graduate of Oglethorpe County High School and worked as a mechanic and carpenter. Wayne served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and also served on the drug task force with the U.S. Army National Guard. Mr. Youngblood attended Lake Russell Baptist Church, enjoyed rebuilding cars, and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of the residence and mother of Arnoldsville, include his two children: Robert ‘Adam’ Youngblood and his wife Donna of Winterville and Alter Laverne Bogue of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Annette Aaron of Crawford; five grandchildren: Sarah Godfrey, Kyle Bogue, Amber Youngblood, Elizabeth Bogue, and Dalton Youngblood; and two great-grandchildren: Carson and Grayson Price.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, September 30, at 2 o’clock at Lake Russell Baptist Church, 1047 Bobby Brown State Park Road, Elberton, GA 30635, with the Rev. Phil Keown officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project.
