Roy Lee Andrews

Mr. Roy Lee Andrews, 96, of Nickville Rd. Dewy Rose, GA husband of 66 years to the late Bernice Caudell Andrews passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at his home with family and friends by his side.

Mr. Andrews was born March 3, 1920 in Banks County, GA to the late William David Andrews and Nettie Brown Andrews. He was a farmer and member of Lamar Christian Church. Mr. Andrews served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific with the Statue of Liberty Division - 77th Infantry during World War II.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Delano S. and Rachel "Libby" Andrews, daughters and sons-in-law Geneva and Gerald Hewell and Trudy Carol and Edward "Ed" Bowen; grandsons David Hewell and Michael (Stephanie) Hewell; three great-grandsons Ethan Hewell, Thomas Hewell and Ian Guest.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Chris Andrews; five brothers; Carson Andrews, William J. "Billy" Andrews, Palmer Andrews, Thomas "Tommie" Andrews and Cleo Andrews; three sisters; Orpha Ausburn, Ruth Stroud and Mae Phillips and two infant siblings.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 4PM, Sunday July 24 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Adams officiating and will receive friends from 3-4PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Gerald Hewell, David Hewell, Michael Hewell, Ethan Hewell, Jerry Hewell, Thomas Hewell, Ian Guest and Randy Lunsford serving as pallbearers. The family is at the home 2420 Nickville Rd., Dewy Rose, GA.

Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.
