Ruffin N. "Bill" Bell, 85, of Rhodes Drive, Elberton, husband of the late Frances Ann Albea Bell, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Heardmont Nursing Home. Mr. Bell was born in Elbert County, February 24, 1928, to the late George Alvin and Lola Clair Ruff Bell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton, attended Falling Creek Baptist Church, and founded Bell Granite Company in 1976 where he worked faithfully until his health declined. Surviving are children, Susan and Ron Cowart of Alpharetta and Nick and Sharon G. Bell of Elberton; siblings, Gene Bell, Bud Bell, Lynn Bell, Mike Bell, Sara Margaret Veal, Martha Ann Hardin, Charlotte Johnson, Jerolyn Almond, and Patsy Suttles; grandsons, Jordan, Grant, and Stephen Bell and Drew, Adam, and Blake Cowart; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Horace, Howard, Douglas, Pete, and Rick Bell, and Maleene Godfrey. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 2, at 2:00p.m. in Falling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jack McVeigh and Mr. Jack Fricks officiating. Entombment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Bell will be placed in the church at 1:00p.m. to lie instate until the service hour. The family is at the residence of Nick & Sharon Bell, 1763 Pleasant Hill Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. Saturday evening. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Compassionate Care Hospice, or Juvenile Diabetes Association. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.berryfh.com.
