Shelby Jean Browder Wadford, 81, of St. Stephen, SC, a former office manager for Neurosurgery & Spine Specialists of Charleston, died Sunday afternoon at her residence.
Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday morning, March 14, 2018, in the First Baptist Church of St. Stephen. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Wadford was born September 3, 1936, in Salters, SC, a daughter of Lacie B. Browder and Cathleen Driggers Browder. She was a devoted christian and member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Wadford formerly worked as a payroll clerk at the Russellville Lumber Co., a secretary for the St. Stephen High School, and as an office manager for both Dr. S.O. Schumann and Berkeley Family Practice. She enjoyed reading, cooking, flower gardening, sewing and quilting, and traveling, especially to the beach. But most of all, Mrs. Wadford loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jim Arthur Wadford.
Surviving are, her husband, Jim W. "Dub" Wadford; two daughters, Pam W. Harris and her husband, Alan, of Bowman, GA, and Kaye W. Hacker and her husband, Mark, of Bloomington, IL; two sons, Jim R. "Randy" Wadford and his wife, Pam, of Concord, NC, and Ken L. Wadford of St. Stephen; a brother, L. Emmett Browder and his wife, Lucia, of St. Stephen; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
