Shirley Lovin Williams

Mrs. Shirley Lovin Williams, 86, of Morning Glory Drive, Elberton, wife of 61 years to the late James Ernest “Jimmy” Williams, died on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at her home.

She was born on April 18, 1935, in Lawrenceville and was a daughter of the late William Henry Lovin, Sr. and Margaret Hall Lovin. She worked as Supervisor of the Billing Department at Brown Transport until her family founded Quick Saw Granite Company. There, she worked in the drafting department and enjoyed working alongside her family. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Memaw loved being with her family and supporting them in their endeavors - from pontoon riding to dirt track racing and everything in between.

Survivors include her sons and their wives: Gary and Missy Williams and Mitch and Rhonda Williams, all of Elberton; grandsons and their wives: Kristopher and Lindsey Williams, Michael and Katie Williams, and Kyle and Katelin Williams; great-grandchildren: Kadan, Logan, Hayden, Rhett, Maddie, Gracin, and Little Mike; brother, Henry Lovin, Jr.; brother-in-law, Glenn Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta Williams; and siblings: Blondean McAllister, Evelyn Thornton, Clyde Lovin, and Blanton Lovin.

Graveside services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, February 3, at 11 o’clock at Forest Hills Memorial Park with the Revs. Bruce Lovin and John Moore officiating.

Pallbearers will include Kristopher Williams, Michael Williams, Kyle Williams, Kadan Williams, Logan Williams, and Glenn Williams.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to Childre's Healthcare of Atlanta.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to Lizzie Mays, Macie Scarborough, and Loretta Milner with Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care during this time.
