Shirline Mangum Henderson

Shirline Mangum Henderson, age 97 of Demorest, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2023.

Born in Hillsboro, Texas on March 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Elmus Fredra & Lucy Stephens Mangum. Shirline was an accomplished artist, having designed furniture for Habersham Plantation in Clarkesville for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed pouring her knowledge into children and many others teaching them about her love for art. Shirline was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church in Dewy Rose, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Perry Henderson; sons: Greg Henderson & Michael Henderson; twin brothers: Varney & Barney Joe Mangum.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Rueshelle & Johnny Ambrose, I.; loving daughter-in-law & caregiver, Judy Atkins Henderson; grandchildren: Christi McPherson, John, II. & Valerie Ambrose; Jessica Henderson, Jarred Henderson, Amberliegh Jesse Henderson, Thomas Scott Henderson, Henry “Hank” & Bobbie Henderson; great-grandchildren: Conner McPherson, Molly Grace McPherson, John H. “Jack” Ambrose, III., Evan Ambrose, Ally Ambrose, Brooklyn Machera Henderson, Faryn Henderson, Erianna Henderson, Lauren Griffin; great-great-grandchildren: Barish Griffin, Ashley Stone, Allyson Matthews, Abby Bishop, Kayson Matthews, Waylon Matthews, Noah Matthews, Hadley Bishop, Maisie Bishop, Annystin Stone, & Eliza Stone; other relatives, & friends.

A celebration of Shirline’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Deep Creek Baptist Church, 2335 Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, GA. 30634. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
