Mrs. Sibyl Daniel Johnson, 89, of Ruckersville Rd., Elberton, widow of William T. "Bill" Johnson, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Johnson was born on October 17, 1924, in Elbert County to the late Henry Daniel and Ruby Robinson Daniel. She was a member of Fortsonia Baptist Church and was a retired secretary from granite industry. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Dan Johnson and his wife Sheila A. Boudinot of Athens, GA; sister, Doris Ridgeway Whitworth of Elberton, GA; grandson, Shane Johnson of Athens, GA; great-grandson, Daniel Ayden Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by siblings: Herman Daniel, Edna Griffin, Loretta Moss, and Lillian Jones. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, September 9, at 4:00p.m at Fortsonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Shane Johnson, Michael Hamilton, Greg Moss, Curtis Harper, Jonathan Rhodes, and Darrell Ridgeway serving as pallbearers. The family is at the hme and will receive friends from 2:00p.m. until the service hour on Tuesday at Fortsonia Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Fortsonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 2616 Washington Highway, Elberton, GA 30635.
