Sidney W. Floyd

Mr. Sidney Wayne Floyd, 59, of Bakers Ferry Road, Elberton, husband of Rhonda Mills Floyd, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville, where he had been lovingly cared for the past two weeks.

Mr. Floyd was born in Elberton on August 1, 1958, youngest son of Walter Junius “Junior” Floyd and Jessie Lee Coile Floyd. He was a self-employed mechanic having owned Floyd’s Automotive and an avid furniture maker and woodworker. He enjoyed watching his grandboys play Little League Baseball and was an avid Bulldog and Braves fan.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 35 years, Rhonda Mills Floyd; sons: Jason and Dana Floyd and Cody and Tailor Floyd; grandchildren: Taylor, Blaine, Aiden, Colton, and Weston; brothers: Darrell Floyd and Adrian Floyd; mother-in-law, Faye Mills; 4 legged sidekick, Bella; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Rabon Floyd.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, June 30, at 11 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Laura Patterson officiating.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home beginning at 9:30a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
