Steven Lee Brooks

Mr. Steven Lee Brooks, 66, of Athens Hwy., Elberton, husband of Phyllis Rucker Brooks, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Brooks was born May 1, 1951, in Austin, TX to Albert Lee Brooks and Rita LaFay Brooks. He attended the Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church, a graduate of the University of Kansas and was a driver for Whitlow Electric of Elberton.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years: Phyllis Rucker Brooks; sons and daughters-in-law: Jeff and Avalon Jewell, Brian and Laurie Jewell, Ryan and Kathleen Brooks and Adam Brooks; mother: Rita LaFay Brooks; brother and sister-in-law: Tom and Jill Brooks; grandchildren: Brycen Jewell, Presley Jewell, Avery Jewell, Reagan Jewell, Isaiah Brooks and Hudson Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his father: Albert Lee Brooks and a sister: Connie Swayze.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held 2PM, Saturday, September 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryan and Rev. Ryan Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends 1-2PM before the service at Berry Funeral Home.
