Thomas Allen Helton

Mr. Thomas Allen Helton, 74, of Poplar Springs Extension, Elberton, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Pruitt Health at Toccoa.

Mr. Helton was born in Elberton on February 22, 1945, son of the late Carl James Helton and Laura Sue Dickerson Helton. He was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and a Vietnam Veteran having served in the Army National Guard. Thomas was a burner operator having worked in numerous granite quarries.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, James and Wylene Helton of Birmingham, AL; sister-in-law, Kathy Helton; brothers-in-law: Frank Bone of Elberton and Ralph Ginn; nephews and nieces: Dennis Bone, Sherri Bone Rampey, Kathy Helton Couper, Stan Helton, Michael Helton, Adam Helton, and Laura Helton; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Carl Kenneth Helton and Charles Douglas Helton; and sister, Wanda Helton Bone Ginn.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, November 27, at 10 o’clock at Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
