Mr. Thomas Dean McKinney, 76, of Hartwell Highway, Elberton, husband of 33 years to Jane Parham McKinney, finished his course in faith on Monday, October 13, 2014, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mr. McKinney was born in Paducah, Kentucky on August 4, 1938, to the late Emory Dean and Catherine Elizabeth McKinney. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25, and retired from the construction industry. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jane Parham McKinney of the home; children: Patty Jo and Norris Thompson, Debra Kay Daniels, and Toby Dean McKinney, all of Kentucky; step-children: David Cleveland and Denise and Bobby Roberts, both of Elberton; six grandchildren: Sgt. Thomas Clark, III, U.S. Air Force Nebraska, Katie Lynn Cleveland Murray of Tennessee, Patrick Tyler Roberts of Elberton, Dakota Clay Weeks, Niki Thompson, and Elijah Boone Daniels, all of Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Braylynn Faith Murray of Tennessee and Olivia Clark of Nebraska; siblings: Joseph Lynn McKinney and Carol Sue McKinney Mathis, both of Paducah, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Phyllis Ann McKinney McCutchen, Lanera Kay Haas, Mary Pat McKinney, and Robert Stephen McKinney. The family is at the residence on Hartwell Highway and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Private graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in Elmhurst Cemetery. Flowers are optional; memorials may be made in his memory to T.J. & Friends Foundation, P.O. Box 6161, Elberton, Georgia 30635 or to Elbert County Emergency Medical Services, P.O. Box 6010, Elberton, Georgia 30635.
