Verdie Sue Watkins

Verdie Sue McMath Watkins, 96, of 141 W. Railroad St. Bowman, GA widow of the late Loy Edward Watkins died Friday February 19, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospice in Athens, GA. Born in Mitchell County, GA she was a daughter of the late Littleton Eugene McMath and Jessie Ann Bowen McMath. She was a member of Bowman Baptist Church, a member of Bowman Woman's Club, and a homemaker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include a daughter Susan Blackmon of Bowman, GA and a granddaughter Christina Wilson. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 7-9PM Monday night February 22, at Berry Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. The family will have a Memorial Celebration of her life at a later date and time. Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Verdie Sue McMath Watkins.
