Obituary for Virginia Lynn Booth Mills

Mrs. Virginia Lynn Booth Mills, 79, of Elberton, wife of the late Walter Alvin Mills, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Heardmont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Mills was born in Elberton on January 9, 1941, daughter of the late Lee Roy and Mildred Louise Hackett Booth. She previously worked at Georgia Synthetics but was most known for her work as a private CNA and caretaker, a job she dearly loved and held close to her heart. Virginia was proud to be one of the first members of Elberton Christian Church. “Granny”, as she was known to her family, was an avid Bulldog and Earnhardt fan!

Survivors include her children: Terry Mills and Leigh Webb Dye, Walter A. Mills, Jr., and Kimberly and Max Black, all of Elberton; grandchildren: Holly Mills, Cana Mills, Moriah Mills, Amber Mills Partain, Tyler Mills, Ryan Black, and Jordan Black; sister, Barbara Robinson of Missoula, Montana; brother, William “Billy” and Martha Ann Booth of Elberton; sisters-in-law: Alice Booth of Leesburg, FL and Jerri Burton of Elberton; special niece, Robin Dutton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Helen Southard, John Booth, Jimmy Booth, Donald Booth, and Karen Tucker.

Virginia will lie in state at Berry Funeral Home from 8:30AM-4:30PM on Friday, March 27, 2020, for those who wish to pay their respects and sign the register book. A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family in Forest Hills Memorial Park with the Rev. Greg Jordan officiating.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and for the wellbeing of everyone, the family respectfully requests no visitation.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Elberton Christian Church or to St. Jude Children's Hospital

Those wishing may sign the online guestbook at www.berryfh.com.
