Wendy Laconya Rucker

Mrs. Wendy LaConya Phelps Rucker, 48, of Elberton, GA gained her eternal wings on February 22, 2022 peacefully at her home.

She was born on August 9, 1973 in Augusta, GA to Earleen Davis Phelps and Robert Jackson Phelps. She was a graduate of Elbert County Comprehensive High School of Elberton, GA and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Elberton,GA. She had a love for music and singing. Her most precious accomplishment was being a mother to her son.

She leaves to cherish her memories husband, Johnny E. Rucker Jr. of Elberton, GA; one son Corwin S. Phelps (Shamaya) of Athens, GA; siblings Corrie Phelps, Sr. of Athens, GA; Rena Fortson of Elberton, GA; Joshalyn Brawner of Hartwell, GA; Jaqueline Willis (Ben Jr.) of Elberton, GA; Betty Phelps-Potts of Loganville, GA; Cynthia Kelley (Paul) of Elberton, GA; Dallas Phelps (Janice) of Savannah, GA; James Phelps (Leann) of Hartwell, GA; sister-in-law Linda Phelps of Athens, GA; one granddaughter Karmyn A’yanna “Miss Kay” Phelps of Athens, GA; uncle Leslie Davis (Lola) of Elberton, GA; aunt Marian Moss of Savannah, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. As well as special friends Crystal Dubose of Athens, GA, Kawya Hulin of Lavonia, GA, Salneva Davis and Deborah Freeman both of Elberton GA.

She is preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be held 2PM, Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Face masks are encouraged.
