William Albert Lee

Mr. William (Bill) Albert Lee age 83 of Hartwell, Georgia passed away on November 29, 2017 in Royston, Georgia in an automobile accident.

Bill married Evelyn T. Hart on April 16, 1955. Surviving children are William Anthony Lee, Wayne Keith Lee, Michelle Lee Morris, Sheryl Denise Hume. Deceased son is Curtis Albert Lee.

Surviving grandchildren are Kayla Cristin Morris, Brittany Lee Morris, Kimberly Andrea Lee, Alexis Jordan Lee, Keith Alexander Lee, Justin Curtis Kearns, Brandon Lee Kearns, and William Bailey Kearns. He has 4 great grandchildren.

Bill was born on January 5, 1934 in Elbert County, Georgia. His parents were Henry E. Lee and Lucy Charpton Lee. He is survived by his brother Bennie Lee. Deceased siblings include Flem Lee, Peggy Rowland, and Maude Reeves.

He served in the Army as a medic during the Korean War from February 20, 1951 to February 19, 1954. During his service he received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, a United Nations Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. His most significant duty assignment was at the 24th Evacuation Hospital. He began his Army career as a Private and moved up 3 ranks ending his Army career as a Corporal.

He had numerous jobs including the Southern Railway System, Vanguard Fire Alarm Sales, Daniels Construction Company, numerous jobs in car sales, Rocky Ridge Vans and the Northeast Georgia Penny saver are among a few of his long line of employment history. Bill is known all over Northeast Georgia from his column “Bill’s Corner” in the Northeast Georgia Penny Saver.

His Celebration of Life will be held January 5, 2018 at 6 pm at Hartwell Church of God located at 120 Race Street, Hartwell, GA 30643 with visitation starting at 5 p.m. Bill loved his family and loved his life and chose to live each day to the fullest. Family and friends please join us in celebrating his life.
