Mr. Zoras Thornton, Jr., 81, of Sanders Rd. Elberton, GA passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Nancy Hart Nursing Home.

Mr. Thornton was born April 21, 1940 in Hartwell, GA to Zoras Thornton, Sr. And Louise Porter Thornton. He was retired from the granite industry where he worked in the quarry division.

He is survived by a daughter: Angela White of Hartwell, GA; step children: Bessie and Kevin Gartrell, Donald and Beverly Hill, and Mary and Lonnie Saddler, all of Elberton, Willie Hill of Seattle, WA, and Calvin Hill of Augusta; brothers: Eddie and Betty Thornton of Bowersville, Clarence and Arizona Thornton of Elberton, William and Shelby Thornton of Elberton, and Scottie Thornton of Elberton, brother-in-law: Saul Gaines; special grandson: Keshawn Saddler, eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ida Mae Johnson Thornton, sisters: Beverly and Janice; step-son: Hoke Hill and grandson: Bryant Keith Hill.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11AM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Lincoln Heights Cemetery.
