Mr. Alfred Lewis Noe, 97, of Nickville Rd., Dewy Rose, GA passed away Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at his home with family at his side.

Mr. Noe was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 13, 1922. He was the son of the late Hugh and Essie Noe. He was a loving husband to Helen Knight Noe, with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Mr. Noe was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, landing on Omaha Beach on 1944 on his 22nd birthday. He fought through Europe until the end of the war.

He was a man of strong Christian faith, following his Savior faithfully all his life. He was an exceptional automotive mechanic and machinist.

He loved gardening, and in retirement enjoyed having a big garden and sharing his harvest with others.

He enjoyed taking his family camping and camped from Georgia to Maine.

Mr. Noe is survived by his wife Helen and children, Susan Cook (Harry), Chris Brown (Frank), Walter Noe (Jessica McDaniel), and Charles Noe (Debbe), as well as 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by all his brothers Paul Noe, Carl Noe, Ralph Noe, Eugene Noe, Edgar Noe, Melvin Noe, and Wayne Noe and sisters Helen Presley, Kathleen Rymer, Mattie Tilley and his granddaughter Lisa Marie Noe.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 11AM, Thursday, February 13th at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Adams officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in the church cemetery with Walter Noe, Charles Noe, Harry Cook, Jeff Cook, Gregory Cook, Douglas Noe, Sean Noe and Marshall Adams serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM Wednesday night February 12th at Berry Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Amedisys Home Health Care 53 Rock Drive, Toccoa, GA 30577 or to the charity of one’s choice.
