Benjamin Bleckley Francis

Mr. Benjamin Bleckley “Ben” Francis, of Elberton, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Heardmont Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was 94 years old.

Mr. Francis was born in Clayton on November 4, 1931, son of the late Benjamin Bleckley Francis Sr. and Elizabeth Elvelyn “Betty” Henderson. He was a graduate of Tallulah Falls School and worked in the construction industry all of his life. An avid outdoors man, he loved fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Surviving are his children and their spouses: Benjamin Michael and Terry Francis, Susan Elizabeth and Franky Gibson, Jeffrey Robert “Jeff”and Diane Francis, John Joseph and Debbie Francis, and Linda Mary Francis; fifteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, William Allen "Bill" Francis; and siblings: twin sister Barbara Jo Galo, Phoebe Marie Reik, and Ann Garrison.
