Beth Rice Brown

Mrs. Sandra ‘Beth’ Rice Elder Brown, 58, of Tusten Street, Elberton, wife of J. Martin Brown, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Beth was born in Elberton on January 7, 1962, daughter of Inez Vickery Rice and the late Claudie James Rice. She was a 1980 graduate of Elbert County High School and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was an Administrative Assistant having worked at Spring Valley Health Care Center for 21 years and for Brayco for 10 years. Beth enjoyed working in her yards, being at the beach, soaking up sun any chance she got, and being pampered.

In addition to her husband, Martin of Elberton and her mother, Inez of Hartwell, she is survived by her only son and the light of her life, Jacob Elder and Morgan Maxwell of Elberton; siblings: Deborah and Butch Jefferson, Randall Rice, Cindy and Kent King, Clay and Dana Rice, and Travis and Kim Rice, all of Elberton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Rice.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, January 19, at 2 o’clock at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. David McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Allen Jefferson, Cory Rice, Kevin Rice, Justin Rice, Austin Albertson, Dustin Rice, Jake Brown, Stephen Dove, and Colson Moore honored as pallbearers.

The family is at the residence of Kent and Cindy King, 1126 Thompson Drive, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Saturday evening.
