Mrs. Betty Jean Beasley Harper, 92, of Bowman, GA passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024, at her son’s home in Elberton, GA surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Anderson, SC on December 17, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas “Jack” Beasley and Ida Mae Barrett Beasley. She was retired from Regions Bank and a member of Bowman Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children: John Haynie Harper, III (Kathy) of Bowman, GA, Karen Leigh Davis of Douglasville, GA, and Brian Keith Harper of Elberton, GA; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Haynie Harper, Jr., to whom she was a devoted caretaker for 17 years; and two sisters: Janette Ray and Martha Lynch.

Betty was the best mother and grandmother any child could wish for. She loved her children unconditionally.

The family is honoring Betty’s request for private memorial service for the immediate family, during which time she will be laid to rest with her husband at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, GA.
