Betty Smith Scarborough

Ms. Betty Smith Scarborough, 85, of Elberton, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at PruittHealth at Spring Valley. 

Ms. Scarborough was born in Anderson, SC on January 10, 1939, daughter of the late Horace Holden Smith and Mary Evelyn Marett Smith. She was retired from Seaboard Farms Poultry. 

Surviving are three daughters: Martha Hughes of Comer, Sharon Ashworth of Elberton, and Kimberly Saxon of Elberton; one sister, Linda Dalton; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

A time of visitation celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, March 1, from 2:00-4:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. 

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to Woodlawn Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 3790 Brad Dixon Road, Elberton, GA 30635.
