Ms. Ottis 'Blanche' Smith Fowler Hammond Fegans, 88, of Athens, formerly of Elberton, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.
Ms. Fegans was born in Bowman on January 14, 1932, daughter of the late James Ottis Smith and Nellie Savannah Bryson Smith. She was the retired co-owner of Bridal Cake and Pastry Shop in Atlanta and Morrow, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Fowler Dixon and her husband Glen of Athens; grandchildren: Andrea Griffith-Girtz and her husband Kelly of Athens and Kevin Griffith and his wife Michelle of Tifton; three great-grandchildren: Alex, Austin, and Noah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Compton Russell "C.R." Fowler and Elkin Hammond; two sisters; and seven brothers.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, June 28, at 1 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Deacon Barry Phillips and Mrs. Andrea Griffith-Girtz officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
