Bryan Keith McAvoy

Mr. Bryan Keith “Keith” McAvoy, age 60, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Keith was born on August 10, 1966, in Washington, Georgia, and was a lifelong resident of Wilkes County. A simple man at heart, Keith never needed much to be happy. For him, life was about family, hard work, and being there when the people he loved needed him.

Above all else, Keith loved his family. He spent much of his life doing what came naturally to him—taking care of those around him, fixing whatever needed fixing, and finding a way to solve the problems that found their way to him. Whether working with his hands, offering advice, or simply being present, his family always knew they could count on him.

Keith especially enjoyed spending time working on his land on Greensboro Road. He loved watching his children build lives and families of their own, passing along his wisdom to his grandchildren, and cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Some of his greatest joy came from the ordinary moments spent surrounded by the people he loved most.

He was employed with Edison Plastics (Magnera) for over 30 years. Those who worked alongside Keith or were fortunate enough to call him a friend knew him as someone dependable, genuine, and always willing to lend a hand. He formed lasting friendships throughout his life and had a way of showing he cared not so much through words, but through what he did for others.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Kipp McAvoy; his children, Trey McAvoy and his wife, Hannah, Tad McAvoy and his longtime girlfriend, Carlisle, Tucker McAvoy and his wife, Emily, and his daughter, Tamara McAvoy; and his beloved granddaughters, Kenleigh and Micah, daughters of Trey and Hannah, and Hadleigh, daughter of Tucker and Emily.

He is also survived by his mother, Hilda Palmer; his sister, Michelle Silvey; step-siblings, Sharon Palmer (Fred), Juanita Taylor (Smiley) and Donnie Palmer; his nieces, Breanna and Paige; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Larry Michael “Mike” McAvoy, and his brother, Todd.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at The Tulip, located at 12 E. Robert Toombs Avenue, Washington, Georgia, on Friday, October 9, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.

Keith’s life was not defined by possessions or accolades, but by the people he loved and the countless ways he cared for them. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. His absence will be deeply felt, but the lessons he taught, the wisdom he shared, and the love he gave his family will remain with them for generations to come.

For those who knew Keith, perhaps the best way to remember him is simply this: he took care of his people.
