Charles Neil Barton

Charles Neil Barton, age 55, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.

Neil was born in Royston and spent all of his life in Elbert County.  He was preceded in death by his father (earlier this year), John A. Barton; and brother, John Gary Barton.

Having a keen knowledge for buying and selling almost anything, he loved spending time at the auction. 

Neil is survived by his wife, Marilyn Barton; mother, Ann Barton; daughter, Kristie Harrell (Matthew); sister, Cindy Kennedy (Rodney); “brother from another mother,” Mike Blackwell; and his nephews, Preston Barton and John Frank Barton. The true joy in his life was his granddaughter, Austyn, and he was excited about the upcoming arrival of a second granddaughter, Berkley. 

A graveside service will take place at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 2, 2022 in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Vanna with Rev. Britt Ginn officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
