Charles loved life and to make others laugh by telling jokes.  He enjoyed the beach, fishing, and old cars- in addition, he was a fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks, but became a true fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Jeff’s mother, Barbara C. Temples; his brother and sisters, Calvin Cobb, Myra Cobb Bagwell, and Ann Cobb Burns; and father in law, Fred T. Maxwell.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Maxwell Cobb; children, Jeff Cobb (Michelle), Rhonda Dunn (Bobby), René Turner (Mike), and Marc Brady (Ashley); sister in law, Sylvia Cobb; mother in law, Sara Cordell Maxwell; brother in law, Lindy Maxwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.  His greatest accomplishment in life was to be Granddad and “PC” (Papa Charlie) to his grandchildren, Sarah Cobb, Brett Cobb, Grace Cobb, Brady Turner (Michelle), Andy Turner (Megan), Corey Dunn (Chloey), Allie Gammon (Curt), Max Brady, Ben Brady, and Eli Brady; and to his great grandchildren, Ryleigh Golden, Peyton Gammon, and Brooklyn Turner.  He is also survived by three men whom he loved like brothers, Charles Mitchell, Mike White, and Luther Cartee.  His brother, Pete Cobb, passed away three days following Charles’ passing.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in the old sanctuary of Deep Creek Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by Robins Air Force Base and masonic rites.
